Camanche Lake near Ione, CA on the south shore has a great RV campground along with plenty of tent sites. The Monument RV spots have sites that backup to a trout pond along with lake front sites as well. The lake offers fishing and recreational boating along with boat rentals. The campground offers outdoor movies for family rated during the summer along with a playground in the tent site sections. Monument R.V. Park has 99 spacious sites near four small fishing ponds and the lake. Recently renovated this park is located at South Shore featuring full hook-ups including 30 and 50 amp electrical service, picnic tables and fire rings.
Pardee Recreation Area located along the Mokeumne River, Pardee Recreation Area provides stunning views and diverse activities for all visitors, old and young. The park lays in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range of Northern California and is just twelve miles southwest of Jackson. The facility is reachable from Highway 88 or Highway 12 and is near the Jackson Rancheria Casino. The overwhelming beauty of this recreation area provides for guests a state of peace as they witness the tranquility of geese floating on the water top, excitement as wild turkey dart across their path, and joy as they interact with the friendly staff. From fishing to hiking, Pardee Recreation Area offers an abundance of activities to keep even the most active groups busy over a long weekend. Over 100 campsites and numerous RV sites, each with a fire pit and picnic table, are located within the park, interspersed with incredible oak trees that provide plenty of shade for the sites. Two swimming pools, several day use areas, boat rentals, fishing and breathtaking hiking trails make this park full of adventure and areas to explore.
Lake Berryessa is the reservoir for the Solano Project which is owned by the Bureau of Reclamation and operated under a cooperative agreement by the Solano County Water Agency/Solano Irrigation District. The project provides flood control protection to the city of Winters and other downstream communities, as well as high-quality water supply for irrigation and the cities of Vacaville, Suisun City, Vallejo, and Fairfield. At capacity, Lake Berryessa stores 1.6 million acre feet of water and is one of the largest bodies of fresh water in California. The lake is 23 miles long, 3 miles wide, with 165 miles of shoreline. Reclamation and the Blue Ridge Berryessa Partnership jointly manage a 2,000-acre wildlife area along the east side of the lake. Nestled between Blue Ridge and Cedar Roughs, east of the Napa Valley, Lake Berryessa offers year-round recreation opportunities. Berryessa’s water reaches temperatures of up to 75 degrees in the summer, making it an ideal place for water sports. Anglers enjoy fishing for both cold and warm water species, such as rainbow trout, bass, catfish, crappie, and bluegill. Lake Berryessa provides many opportunities to experience a variety of wildlife and plant exploration activities. New Hogan Lake is the perfect place for camping, water sports, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Oak-studded, rolling grassland surrounds the lake and is green and lush in spring, turning golden in summer. Maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the camping, picnicking and RV sites on New Hogan Lake are well designed to give beautiful views of the lake. There are 207 campsites available for reservation at three campgrounds: Acorn, Oak Knoll & Deer Flat, plus one group campground that can accommodate up to 50 people. NO FULL HOOKUP SITES
New Melones is part of Reclamation’s Central Valley Project. It is located off of Highway 49, some 8 miles north of Sonora and 6 miles south of Angels Camp, in the Mother Lode. Each year, approximately 600,000 visitors enjoy New Melones’ numerous recreational opportunities. Facilities include day use areas; boat launch ramps; more than 300 campsites; hiking, biking and equestrian trails; a visitor center and museum; and abundant water-based recreation. Folsom Lake is located at the base of the Sierra foothills, the lake and recreation area offers opportunities for hiking, biking, running, camping, picnicking, horseback riding, water-skiing and boating. Fishing offers trout, catfish, big and small mouth bass or perch. Visitors can also see the Folsom Powerhouse (once called “the greatest operative electrical plant on the American continent”), which from 1885 to 1952 produced 11,000 volts of electricity for Sacramento residents. For cyclists, there is a 32-mile long bicycle path that connects Folsom Lake with many Sacramento County parks before reaching Old Sacramento. The park also includes Lake Natoma, downstream from Folsom Lake, which is popular for crew races, sailing, kayaking and other aquatic sports.
Don Pedro Lake, Moccasin Point Recreation Area offers RV (full hookup) and tent camping, restrooms with hot showers (at no extra charge), RV sewage dump station, walking trails, picnic area, boat launch ramp, fish cleaning station and full service marina. The confluence of Moccasin Creek and Don Pedro Lake is located adjacent to the campground making this facility a great base for both flat water and stream fishing opportunities. The cool water that flows in Moccasin Creek not only offers trout fishing, wading and a cool reprieve from the warm temperatures of summer, it also creates great habitat for bird watching. Moccasin Point campground serves as a great base camp to stay and play in the area.
